No matter what’s going on in our lives we need good people around us. For people in the Bay of Plenty who have been diagnosed with breast cancer this is even more important. Thankfully, they can find some of those good people in Breast Cancer Support Service Tauranga (BCSS).

BCSS employs support workers who have been through breast cancer treatment themselves, and who understand the true impact of this.

They provide both emotional and practical help, through things like social outings with others going through treatment, support groups, frozen meals, oncology massage for pain relief, pilates classes and more. It’s a time that’s not only physically and emotionally tough, but often financially too as the impact of undergoing treatment can lead to clients being unable to work. This adds another worry in an already stressful time.

One of the ways BCSS alleviate this is through fuel vouchers, paid-forward by Z Energy. They paid-forward $350 worth of fuel vouchers for BCSS to provide to clients.

To help the vouchers go further and help more of our locals diagnosed with breast cancer, Tauranga businesses S&L Land Specialists (a surveying and civil engineering firm) and Spark Business Hub BOP (business technology specialists) generously topped up Z Energy’s pay-it-forwards.

“We receive regular petrol vouchers and they are amazing to be able to give to clients who have to travel a long way to go in for treatment. Often they are at a time where they are struggling financially so to be able to give a $50 petrol voucher is a wonderful way of supporting them. We’re really appreciative of GoGenerosity and Z service stations for providing those vouchers.”
