“Think social. Get social. Be social.” That’s the mantra of the Social Clubs around the North Island and specifically the Taupo Social Club. At the heart of its meaning, being social is being community-based and community-minded.

As part of their focus on helping the community the Taupo Social Club generously paid-it-forward 30 meals to Kura Kai or “food for schools.” Kura Kai donates freezers to partnering secondary schools around New Zealand, which volunteers generously stock with frozen meals to give to rangatahi (young people) and their whānau (family). In particular those who the schools identify as needing a helping hand or uplifting through a nutritious meal.

This time, the Taupo Social Club whipped up some delicious pasta for the Kura Kai freezers. Students and families will get to enjoy spaghetti with tomato sauce, meatballs and parmesan - always a favourite in any household!

If you, too, want to be part of the Taupo Social Club’s social-mindedness, add a small amount to your bill so that they can keep on paying-it-forward to Kura Kai. They’re known for their Pork Belly and burgers, as well as fun atmosphere, so well worth the visit.
