Te Puke is a Bay of Plenty town known as the kiwifruit capital of the world, and it has a motto, “Goodness Grows Here”. That doesn’t just refer to the kiwifruit orchards, it also relates to its people. This is a small town with a big heart!

The Daily Charitable Trust is run by these big hearted people. Profits from the Daily Charitable Trust, along with its cafe (called The Daily Cafe), initiatives and events, are poured back into the community in a bid to break the poverty cycle and offer all its citizens a chance to have a better future. How good is that?!

Recently, The Daily Cafe, paid-it-forward 40 meals to the Daily Trust (their charity outreach arm), who then offered these meals to the Te Puke townsfolk who needed them. What better way to put a smile on the face of those who are hungry or in need of a good meal! Sharing food and fellowship is also a great way to build community … in Te Puke and in all towns and cities.

If you’d like to help goodness grow in Te Puke, The Daily Cafe is open six days a week (closed Sundays) and can be found at 3 Commerce Lane. They offer delicious food and coffee, with the option to pay-it-forward when you pay. They also turn coffee into water by donating the proceeds from coffees sold to provide fresh water to people in Cambodia. Now that’s an international community at work.
