It's amazing how small things can make a big difference in our lives. What might seem like a simple gesture to us can bring immense joy and comfort to those who are going through a difficult time. This is particularly true for children who have experienced domestic violence and may have been forced to leave their homes quickly without their belongings.

The Kids Store has been on our platform since the beginning, paying-it-forward to Tauranga Women’s Refuge frequently. They donate new clothes, checking the ages and sizes of the children currently at the refuge so they can make sure there’s something for everyone. As simple as it may sound, these clothes bring joy to the children, making them feel cool too.

The Kids Store owner, Sam, keeps the tags on too so that the kids can have the full experience of being given new clothes. It’s little things like this that make a huge difference.

I’m thinking of a little person right now I was able to give the clothing to. He has had a bit of a rough journey, experiencing domestic violence…even something so simple as clothing was able to give him a bit of joy, and in that moment it means a lot.

To us, clothes may just be clothes, but to these children, they can bring happiness and comfort during a difficult time.

By paying-it-forward clothes to children in need, The Kids Store and its customers are not only helping those in immediate need but also inspiring others to do the same. It's a great example of how small acts of kindness can make a big impact. As Hannah from the refuge says, “something small like that means a lot to our kids and their families.”

Their actions inspire us all to be generous and make a positive impact on the lives of those around us.
