We all know the feeling of getting to the end of the day, walking into your house starving and tired, and then realising you’re the adult here so you have to cook. It’s deflating, isn’t it? Now imagine that feeling after you’ve spent all day at the hospital with one of your kids. It sounds really, really hard.

The Cook in Hamilton paid-forward $200 worth of meals to True Colours to help make the end of day meal less of a burden for families with ill children.

True Colours Children's Trust is a charity who supports families whose kids have chronic, life-altering or life-shortening illnesses. Being able to offer them meals is a huge help.

"We’ve got a couple of families in hospital at the moment and they’ve got other children. They’ve spent all day up at the hospital with their children, then they’re wrangling all the other kids at home at the end of the day, so just not having to think about putting a meal on the table can be one less thing they’ve got to worry about that day."

To help The Cook pay-forward as many meals as possible, their corporate partner S&L Land Specialists (a surveying and civil engineering firm based here in Tauranga) generously topped up The Cook’s customer pay-it-forwards.

If you want to be part of stories like this one, head along to The Cook and pay-it-forward while you’re there. Aside from their generosity, The Cook are known for their delicious pizza and their quiz nights - both which make for a great night out.
