There is no denying the power of community. When people come together with a common goal, they can achieve incredible things. From supporting local businesses to helping those in need, the impact of a united community can be truly remarkable.

Seeing the reaction of Kiwis in the wake of Cyclone Gabrielle, we’ve been reminded that even the smallest actions can have a ripple effect and create a chain reaction of generosity and compassion.

The cyclone had caused significant damage to many areas, leaving communities devastated and in need of urgent assistance. Red Cross New Zealand was on the ground providing crucial aid, but they needed more resources to ensure that they could reach as many people as possible.

Flight Coffee, a well-known coffee shop in Wellington, recently added the option for their customers to pay-it-forward while shopping on their website.

Customers responded, with $350 being paid-it-forward to Red Cross New Zealand to help with the disaster recovery efforts. They also created their own ‘Cyclone Coffee’ blend that donated to the cause.

Their donation was greatly appreciated by Red Cross New Zealand, as it enabled them to provide vital assistance to those affected by the cyclone. The funds helped to provide emergency shelter, food, and water, as well as medical assistance and emotional support to those who had lost so much.

Thanks to the generosity of Flight Coffee and their customers, the affected communities are able to start rebuilding their lives and homes.

Flight Coffee's dedication to paying-it-forward and supporting the community in times of need is a testament to the power of kindness and generosity. By working together, we can make a difference and help those who need it most.
